Homes and condominiums in some stage of foreclosure accounted for 42 percent of all Broward County sales in the second quarter, a slight increase from a year ago, RealtyTrac Inc. said Thursday. In Palm Beach County, 37 percent of all home and condo sales in April, May and June were in the foreclosure process, up from 25 percent during the same period last year.Nationally, foreclosures accounted for 31 percent of all sales. Broward County’s housing market was one the brightest in Florida in July as home sales and prices rose from a year ago.The county had 1,087 sales of existing homes last month, up 8 percent from July 2010, the Florida Realtors said Thursday. According to The Sun-Sentinel, 31 out of 38 cities will be collecting less tax revenue due to continued declines in property prices. This is the third year in a row that cities have faced declines in property tax revenue.
