Half the local governments in Broward County are raising their taxes and half are staying the same as last year. According to The Sun-Sentinel, 31 out of 38 cities will be collecting less tax revenue due to continued declines in property prices. This is the third year in a row that cities have faced declines in property tax revenue.
For Plantation, this is $611,943 less than 2010.

According to RealtyTrac, there are 37,384 Foreclosure Homes in Plantation with an a average foreclosure sales price of $121,386. For Broward County, there were 7,393 new foreclosure filings in August.
Sales of single family homes in Broward for August 2010 was 1485 with an average price of $168,000. This number was down on the previous months, when it was 1,850. The average price drop for the month was a thousand dollars.
